Getting Started is Easy
Beginning the process with Hourglass Diamonds is as easy as scheduling a discovery meeting online, where we will set up a one-hour consultation either in person or virtually. We will welcome you to share your inspiration photos and ideas beforehand to offer us a glimpse into your vision.
Additionally, in the design consultation, Justin will personally guide you through the process, regardless of your knowledge about jewelry, diamonds, or design. Together, we will explore your thoughts, the intended recipient’s style, and any other design inspirations that may be on your mind. By the end of the consultation, a clear direction will have been created and we will have captured a concept that aligns with your unique vision.
The Stone Selection Process
Justin's commitment to quality continues in the stone selection phase. Handpicking ethically and sustainably sourced stones, he considers your design, desired quality, and budget. With our guidance, you'll have all the information you need to make an informed decision—and we always encourage you to ask questions!
Detailed high-resolution pictures and videos, along with notes for each stone, will be provided for you to review. Then, once the selection is narrowed down, the chosen stone will be shipped for an in-person viewing, ensuring it exceeds your expectations. If anything falls short, Justin and our team will not settle for anything less than perfection, and we will continue the search until we find "the one" that truly speaks to you.
What Happens During the CAD Design Phase?
With the stone selected, the next step is the CAD design process. Leveraging our precision expertise, we will bring your design to life through a 3D CAD model. You'll receive a digital rendering for approval, and any necessary tweaks can be made to perfect the final result—even though we do pride ourselves on usually getting it right the first time!
Once approved, the CAD concept becomes the foundation for creating a casting of your ring or piece of jewelry. Each stone is meticulously set by hand, finishing details are added, and the final polish adds the perfect touch of brilliance.
A Piece to Treasure for Years to Come
When your custom piece is ready, Hourglass Diamonds ensures a seamless delivery experience. You can choose between a convenient pickup or insured delivery of your cherished jewelry. We also welcome the chance to schedule a brief meeting to discuss care and cleaning instructions, provide an appraisal, offer information about jewelry insurance, and supply diamond or gemstone certification, if applicable.
Your finished piece will arrive in a beautiful box, perfect for ring storage or even for your special proposal moment. And to keep your jewelry sparkling, our team will also provide you with a jewelry cleaner to use on the go.
